A Mother Being Honored on Her 100th Birthday

I am so excited to share with you what I have been working on this week. What an honor to be asked by my friend Suellen to be involved in the celebration of her mother's 100th Birthday. I am creating 60 miniture porcelain teacups with pink clay roses for family and friends. The celebration will take place as a High Tea at the Propylaeum Restaurant in Indianapolis. I have also created the corsage that Martha will be wearing as her friends and family come to share in this momentous day.

In Georgia

Hi all, well I  finally arrived about an hour ago to Betty's beautiful home in Fayetteville, Georgia. Not a very good experience at the Atlanta airport, but I am here and so excited to be taking more DECO Clay classes. I think it has been 3 years since I have taken classes. We will be concentrating on the Tropical Clay Flower course.  Can't wait until tomorrow to begin. Good night. I will post my class creations soon.

Unity Candle for April Wedding

It has been a long time since my last post. I have been working on a number of custom orders for prom, a unity candle for an April 21st wedding, prom flowers for sale at A Step Above Bridal, and will be working on a few more proms and a cake topper for my cousin's son's wedding May 26. I will begin to work on two corsages and a boutonniere for my friend Debra Taylor. She has a special plan for these custom orders. I will post pictures as pieces are created.

Unity Candle for April Wedding

I will be traveling to Georgia the first week in May to train with DECO Clay Instructor Betty Phillips of The Clay Magnolia . She is a very talented artist and has recently returned from Japan and Hawaii where she took advance classes.  I am so excited to finally be moving forward on becoming an instructor.  I will be concentrating on Tropical flowers on this trip and a review of flowers I learned from past instruction. I hope to come back prepared to begin classes soon.  I AM SO...... EXCITED.

Networking Leads to Article in the ICON

In January I attended the 1st Hendricks County Wedding Professional Networking Group meeting. It was held at the Crown Room in Brownsburg. It was a great meeting. The purpose of the group is to build relationships with other Hendricks Co. based wedding professionals and businesses. Not only the opportunity to network with wedding professionals, but the opportunity to learn from guest speakers.

Well, the very next day I received a call from Nicole Palmer of the Hendricks County ICON, who had been given my name from Andreah Caldwell of Events By Andreah. Andreah also works for the ICON.  I met Andreah at the networking meeting the day before. Nicole wanted to interview me for the 2012 Brides To Be Edition within the March 2012 Hendricks County ICON. See page 15 for the article  "Make that Special Day Unique with Special Keepsakes"

Thank you so much Andreah and Nicole for sharing my work with the Hendricks County community.
